Sewage is a subject that most people avoid talking and thinking about, but it is at the very core of human and animal existence. Whatever our status and power in society, this is the one thing that we all have in common and society deals with it as best it can.
Over the last few years, the Canary Islands have become an increasingly popular destination. Rightly so, since few places can offer such an equitable climate throughout the year. However, this popularity has not come without cost, and the more popular resorts on the largest islands have been both shocked and embarrassed by the consequences of untreated sewage that has found its way into the sea.
